Long image
Long image joins every page of a document, top to bottom, into one tall JPEG. It’s handy for chat apps that show a single picture better than a PDF or a pile of photos.
What it is
Each page is scaled to the same width and placed under the previous one, with a thin light-grey gap between pages. Signatures, annotations, the watermark and the timestamp are drawn in.
Step by step
- Open the document and tap Share.
- Tap the Long image chip, next to JPG. Or tap Tools, then Long image under Convert, and pick the document.
- Tap Share Long image.
- Pick the app to send it with. You can also tap Save to a folder… instead.
Free and Pro
Long image is free.
Privacy
- The image is made on your iPhone, one page at a time. Nothing is sent to our server.
- The file exists only while you share it, and is deleted when the share sheet closes.
- Long image isn’t offered for documents in a private vault: their pages are only ever opened in memory.
Tips
- Long image works best for a few pages. For long documents, a PDF is easier to read.
- A picture can only be so tall. A long image holds about 60 A4 pages; past that, Paperwise asks you to split the document first.
What if…
What if it says the document has too many pages?
Split the document into parts and make a long image of each. See Split and merge.
